ABOUT THE SOCIAL POLICY GROUP

The Social Policy Group (SPG) is a national body with specialist expertise in social policy, social and community cohesion, population diversity, gender equality, access and equity, community participation and inclusion, systems’ responsiveness, community outreach and engagement, and digital and multilingual communications. SPG is an umbrella organisation for a number of national bodies and initiatives, including Harmony Alliance: Migrant and Refugee Women for Change, Migration Council Australia, Migrant and Refugee Health Partnership, Centre of Digital Wellbeing, and Judicial Council on Cultural Diversity, among others.

Position Purpose

The Administration Officer will focus on maintaining accurate data records and completing necessary reporting requirements for the Logan Cultural Diversity Trial.

The objective of the Trial is to enhance the social and economic participation of the Logan community, and maximise benefits of the region’s diversity.

The position will focus on providing effective and efficient administration support to the project to support the outcomes and success of the project.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Customer

  • Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation within the Logan Project
  • Establish and maintain effective records management systems as required for the Project Coordinator and adhere to deadlines
  • Prepares and edits correspondence, reports, presentations and confidential correspondence
  • Gathers data and prepares reports for more detailed analysis by senior executives
  • Coordinates and undertakes booking of travel, catering, events, special functions and meetings as required
  • Maintains administration systems, including diaries, records, mail, filing and archiving of records
  • Arranges and facilitate appointments and meetings
  • Attend project update meetings as required

  • Actively participate as a member of the Logan Cultural Diversity Trial Team
  • Work effectively and respectfully in a team environment
  • Effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Experience in community services
  • Previous experience in administration
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to track budgets accurately throughout the project
  • Excellent organisational skills
