The Executive Assistant Role will provide operational administrative support to the Director of Nursing & Midwifery (DONM) and the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) and as required fulfil the relieving functions of the administrative officer - Head of Health Services as required. This full-time permanent position is based in Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling YolÅ‹u powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.

Essential Requirements

This position will report directly to the DONM for professional accountability however will work within a distributed function to the DONM and SMO on a day-to-day reporting accountability function. Candidates must an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self determination, understanding of the issues faced by Yolngu people living in remote settings. Candidates must have knowledge and experience working with computers and Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and ability to prioritise own workload with high problem-solving ability in a high paced environment.
