The Opportunity

A unique opportunity for a proven Technology Services leader to operationally manage a small professional team, providing ICT services and knowledge management across QLeave. Reporting into the Director for Governance and Corporate Services, this role will lead a team of five incorporating Systems Administration, Change Management and Quality responsibilities. This role is both hands-on and strategic as you will also be involved in ICT related projects, from initial idea generation through to design and implementation. Effective vendor partnership management also forms an essential component of this challenging and varied position. The agency works within a Windows 7, Microsoft Office 365 Cloud based environment.

Key features of this role:

• Permanent AO7 position in the Queensland Government
• Salary in range $103,154 to $110,613 plus generous government superannuation provisions
• Position based at Northgate in new office environment with free parking available

The Requirements

• Is a contemporary ICT generalist and a natural leader of people who has proven mentorship capabilities to encourage and promote high-standards of staff performance to achieve departmental goals and expectations
• Has the vision and drive to continually improve business systems and processes to support short and long-term business objectives
• Can juggle both project related work and operational business as usual tasks, whilst remaining accountable for day-to-day ICT systems availability, infrastructure and governance
• Builds solid relationships and works effectively with colleague managers to ensure organisational benefits are delivered against strategic and operational plans
• Has a proven ability to effectively implement and manage successful vendor and external provider partnerships and contracts using high-level mediation and negotiation skills

The Environment

QLeave is a small statutory agency, directly accountable to a Board and the Minister for Industrial Relations. This position reports to the Director Governance and Corporate Services. The benefits of working as a manager within QLeave include:
