Mental Health and Wellbeing Local - Frankston Wellways, Mentis Assist and Peninsula Health are working together to provide mental health and wellbeing supports in Frankston to ensure everyone can access treatment and care closer to home.  

The Frankston Mental Health and Wellbeing Local provides welcoming and inclusive support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug dependence treatment and care needs. 

Our service is led by lived experience and coproduced with the local community to meet its needs.

The service currently operates 6 days per week, and this position is required to work rostered hours. The Frankston Mental Health Local is committed to reconciliation, lived experience and inclusivity. About the role

You will provide psychological interventions to people experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges and those experiencing co-occurring alcohol and other drug challenges. You will practice collaboratively working with other clinicians, consumer peer workers, community practitioners and service consumers. You will provide psychological assessments, and individual and group therapy sessions. You will work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to complete assessments of participants on their entry into the service.

About you

You are an experienced psychologist, accustomed to working with several treatment modalities. You can demonstrate that your practice is collaborative, and responsive to the needs of consumers. You are ready and willing to implement the changes to mental health services as recommended by the Royal Commission into Mental Health.

Requirements

  • Master of Psychology with APRHA registration as a psychologist. (Clinical preferred.)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mental health service setting however, psychologists with less than 2 years of experience in mental health service may also be considered
  • 100 points of ID
  • National police check and Working with Children Check
  • Right to work in Australia
  • People with lived experience of mental health challenges are encouraged to apply.
