About The Royal Melbourne Hospital:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

RMH is currently recruiting for the position of Manager, Youth Lived Experience on behalf of the Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS). This role will officially transition to PYMHWS on 1 July 2025.

This is a leadership role supporting the continued development, and continuous quality improvement of, youth lived experience programs at OSP. We highly value the unique expertise you bring—both from your lived experience and your roles across diverse settings. About the role:

  • Provide operational support to the youth lived experience leadership team
  • Provide guidance across the wider program regarding youth lived experience including peer work, collaboration and co-design
  • Contribute to a wide range of quality improvement activities, as well as provide line management guidance and co-reflection to members of your team

About you:

Essential

  • Commitment to live the Melbourne Way - putting people first, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together
  • Lived experience of mental ill-health, including seeking treatment in the public mental health system
  • Leadership experience in the areas of advocacy, consultation, co-design, project work or peer work

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience of service delivery in the Victorian public mental health system, providing expertise in the area of lived experience
  • Formal lived experience training such as Intentional Peer Support or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work
  • Current Victorian drivers’ licence
