Identification and measurement of outcomes for the service or product delivered are central to effective and sustainable delivery. Products, services and their price structures are continuously reviewed to ensure ongoing relevance to people with disability, families and carers. MCM provides high-quality, Short-Term Accommodation and Community Access for children and young people with a disability using contemporary principles of person-centred planning and active support. The team supports people to achieve their personal goals/aspirations and to actively participate within local communities.

The Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing staff in a nominated Short Term Accommodation service to deliver high quality outcomes, quality and compliance for the people we are supporting in accordance with National Quality Standards and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) requirements, while working closely with the Business Relationships and Growth Manager and the Head of Disability, to promote the service and link in with schools, planners and other potential referrers. Our Short Term Accommodation service work with children and young people aged 6-18yrs of age. Our division is passionate about making a difference in both the children/young people's lives and those of their families.

  • Provide a shared care model that works with caregivers and allied health professionals to achieve set goals; and
  • Promote community participation through regular outings based on activities of their choice.

About you

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Promoting an environment that empowers the young people we support to make choices, self-advocate and achieve the lifestyle they desire.
  • Facilitating and supporting communications and relationships to ensure the needs and concerns of the people we support are addressed and acted upon.
  • Reporting on outcomes for participants and families in accordance with NDIS requirements
  • Develop and maintain operations systems and procedures to support the effective delivery of STA.
  • Managing and coaching staff in accordance with legislation, relevant standards, funding contracts and internal policy, as well as operational requirements to ensure effective performance of the team.

Essential

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification and/or significant relevant experience managing programs that support community-based services with a focus on Short Term Accommodation, Behaviour Support, or community-based Disability Services.
  • A sound understanding of the Disability Act 2006 and the National Disability Insurance Scheme Quality and Safeguards Framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team, promoting positive workplace culture, effective people leadership and day to day management of a service.
  • Experience with Rostering and rostering systems.
  • Experience working within a residential setting and/or working with people with disabilities including knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability and physical disabilities.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and acquittals, including setting and managing budgets against performance targets, creating business plans and reporting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with different parties to facilitate supports.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and problems to appropriate resolutions.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain contacts with a range of stakeholders and community organisations, to promote the service and maintain effective relationships with care teams.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and rostering and client management systems.

  • Working with Children check and NDIS Worker Screening check or ability to obtain
  • Valid Victorian Drivers licence
  • Right to Work in Australia
  • Up to date with COVID-19 Vaccinations or valid medical exemption
