About the program

We are currently looking for Co Educators who is able to join our team at Doreen Children’s Centre located in Doreen. We have an opportunity that is once in a lifetime in a non-for-profit organisation that is making a difference in the community by providing quality early years services unlike any other. Hartnett House Children’s Centre is a 126-place service with 6 rooms ranging from 6 weeks old to 6-year old. We are looking for an exceptional leader to join the team and guide them through a journey that will both inspire and innovate our educators. The right applicant will have strong knowledge in the National Quality Framework and the ability to apply early years “best practice” standards.

About the role

  • Plan, implement and evaluate educational programs which are based on sound knowledge of early childhood development and current educational practices under the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Frameworks.
  • Provide high quality programs based on recorded observations and interpretation of children’s responses, needs and interests.
  • To keep accurate and up to date information, observations and notes with regard to children’s learning and development and the programs provided for them.
  • Assess the developmental needs of children, including the need for referral to specialist services, and to provide information and advice for families with regard to their child’s learning and development.
  • To write appropriate applications as required for the support of children’s learning and/or developmental needs, including but not limited to second year applications and KIS funding applications.

Skills and experience

  • A minimum three-year Early Childhood teaching qualification as approved by ACECQA.
  • Current VIT registration.
  • Demonstrated capacity and experience in planning and implementing a high-quality early childhood program that is play based and child focused.
  • Sound Knowledge of the Early Years Framework, National Quality Standards and the Rating & Assessment process.
  • Capacity to fulfil all the regulatory and legislative compliance obligations associated with being a certified supervisor.
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and to work independently.
