The Opportunity at MCRI

This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join MCRI and be part of Strengthening Care for Children, a randomised controlled trial of a GP-paediatrician model of care, across 11 general practice clinics in Victoria. You will be someone that has relevant participant recruitment and research environment experience and be based in the field. You will be responsible for collecting family survey data across a general practice clinic within North Western Melbourne each month and providing general administrative support to the team. Upcoming locations include North Coburg and Essendon. You will be working closely with a project manager, lead research assistant and project officer from the Northwest Melbourne Primary Health Network.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting caregivers of paediatric patients to complete online surveys in GP clinics
  • Contact and facilitate patient conversations face-to-face or via phone as required
  • Survey data collection and entry as required
  • Travel to various GP clinics in the north-western suburbs of Melbourne

About you:

  • Experience with participant recruitment and engagement with children and caregivers (preferred)
  • Experience working in a research environment
  • Own car for travel (generous travel reimbursement available)
  • Degree/Honours/Masters qualification in Health or related discipline (e.g. psychology, public health, social sciences)
