The Strategy Implementation Team is seeking an experienced and dedicated Implementation Coordinator to join us at the beginning of year 4 of our five-year Melbourne Children’s Campus Mental Health Strategy (Strategy). This crucial period focuses on the completion of pilots, evaluation of Strategy outputs, and the subsequent refinement and scaling of these outputs. Our goal is to achieve sustainable improvements in mental health care and practice for children, young people and their families across the Campus, supported by 'gold standard' evidence research and education on effective practice change.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Implementation: Utilise expertise in change and implementation theories to advise on integrating and scaling Strategy activities into practice and policy in mental health care across the Campus. This includes working with team members to ensure the effective use of knowledge translation and practice implementation methodologies
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead and enhance relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the Strategy. This includes working with multidisciplinary staff (clinicians, researchers, educators) and people with lived and living experiences (Lived Experience Advisors), including young people and their parents/carers, with support from the Strategy Implementation team
  • Project and Risk Management: Manage, prioritise, and report on project timelines and resources to achieve timely delivery of Mental Health Strategy outcomes. This includes managing stakeholder expectations in relation to project delivery and monitoring and mitigating risk

What we need from you:

  • At least 3 years’ experience and appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of qualifications, experience, training or professional accreditation in knowledge translation, implementation science, change management and/or service quality improvement in relevant fields including health, mental health, social research
  • Experience working in partnership with diverse stakeholders in analysing multiple sources of information and synthesising into integrated evidence-based and strategic approaches to health system development and quality improvement in facilitating scaling of practice change in relevant ‘real world’ settings
  • Ability to engage and work with people with lived and living experience of mental health conditions and recovery - young people and their parents/carers and families - in design, consultation, and implementation
  • Demonstrates exceptional strategic thinking and creativity, including a track record of influencing decisions, proposing innovative solutions, and partnering with diverse stakeholders to develop strategic initiatives for system development and quality improvement
