More about the role:

We are expanding our care to all cancers and growing as an organisation. This position is part of our Nursing Program team and plays an integral part in supporting our amazing McGrath Cancer Care Nurses across the country.

This is a non-clinical role overseeing operational and administrative functions to provide day to day support to a portfolio of McGrath Cancer Care Nurses.

Through building strong relationships and engaging key stakeholders, the Program Coordinator coordinates operational activities and provides administrative and advisory support to nurses, to ensure they are well equipped to focus on delivering best practice supportive cancer care nursing aligned with the McGrath Model of Care.

This role is interesting and engaging as the responsibilities are varied, including:

  • Proactively working with internal and external stakeholders to execute new funding agreement contracts and contract renewals for McGrath Cancer Care Nurse placements, ensuring the process is properly administered and managed.
  • Being the key liaison and relationship manager for nurses and their managers for McGrath funded positions.
  • Supporting relevant health service stakeholders with the recruitment and placement of qualified specialist nurses to fill McGrath Cancer Care Nursing positions.
  • Ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for McGrath Cancer Care Nurses including the coordination of key induction and learning milestones.
  • Working closely with line managers and Nurse Clinical Leads to embed the McGrath Model of Care for all McGrath Cancer Care Nurses and operational success in the role.
  • Ensuring key deliverables of the nursing program are met and make certain nurses are fully supported to successfully achieve operational and clinical outcomes. This includes leading regular documented check-ins with each McGrath Cancer Care Nurse and maintaining accurate data collection for processing and analysis of nurse position impact.
  • Collaborating with the broader Foundation team to facilitate the compilation of nurse stories and engage nurses to attend promotional and fundraiser opportunities for McGrath Foundation.

What you bring to the role:

Our ideal candidate has experience working in a people-focused, value-add support or advisory role. This could be in healthcare, practice management, human resources, project management or general business administration.

We are looking for a passionate and organised individual who has strong administrative skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and prioritise workflow to meet operational demands. Critical to success in this role will be the ability to build relationships and interact with key stakeholders along with strong written skills.

An understanding of some or all aspects of working in a healthcare environment would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
