About the Role

Reporting to the GM – Finance & Administration, the ISTM is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of McCall’s IT environment. You’ll be instrumental in building and maintaining the organisation’s:

  • Digital and data strategies
  • Cyber security frameworks and risk management protocols
  • IT infrastructure, cloud systems, and vendor partnerships
  • Technology roadmap and system optimisation efforts

This role blends technical oversight with hands-on project delivery and strategic planning and high-level advisory responsibilities. From enhancing cyber resilience to championing digital innovation across the organisation, your leadership will shape how McCall harnesses technology now and into the future . This is a stand-alone IT leadership role where you'll be the primary technology expert, collaborating with external vendors and service providers to deliver solutions across the organisation.

Your Key Areas of Impact

  • Cyber Security Leadership: Collaborate with external security providers to design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity framework. Support risk assessments, oversee compliance with standards such as the ACSC Essential Eight and Cyber Security NSW 'Mandatory 25', lead incident response efforts, and foster a culture of cyber awareness across the organisation.
  • Technology Strategy: Develop and manage a forward-looking IT roadmap, aligning digital tools with organisational goals, and supporting staff with systems that enhance service delivery.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee implementation of new systems and platforms, ensure interoperability and data security, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Budget Management: Plan, optimise and manage technology expenditures to ensure cost-effective solutions that deliver business value.
  • Organisational Support: Provide guidance, training, and support to staff across multiple sites and off-site locations, ensuring data privacy compliance and promoting the safe, effective use of technology. The role requires the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical information for non-technical stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in IT management, system administration, or cyber security leadership
  • Require knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, and IT service management tools
  • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, digital transformation, and cyber security programs
  • Proven experience in developing data visualisation tools and analytics platforms to support the data strategy requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate IT budget planning, cost optimisation and effective financial management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement

Desirable

  • Experience in the disability or not-for-profit sector
  • Knowledge of the NDIS and relevant compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, and IT service management tools
  • ITIL or relevant project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP)
