Our client, seeks a legally qualified Privacy Officer to join their team. Reporting to the Manager - Freedom of Information and Privacy, and working within the Community Relations Division, the team is involved in Community Engagement through Marketing campaigns and Partnerships. The role of the Privacy Officer is to assist in the co-ordination and management of the the privacy function and implement the privacy strategy.

Role responsibilities:

• Process sensitive, high-profile FOI requests for corporate information received from the media, politicians, and other individuals.
• Respond to subpoenas, warrants, statutory orders and other information within legal/negotiated time frames.
• Receiving privacy incident reports, assessing the incidents and formulating a response action plan where required
• Receiving and responding to privacy complaints
• Reporting on privacy trends
• Providing advice on matters relating to privacy
• Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments
• Managing and implementing privacy policies and work practices
• Meeting the company's privacy compliance obligations, including facilitating audits

You need to bring with you:

• Demonstrated Experience working in Freedom of Information & Privacy
• Legal Background is highly advantageous
• Strong planning and prioritisation capabilities
• Ability to respond to sensitive information requests from media and other government agencies
• Strong interpersonal skills - Leadership experience preferred but not essential
