Summary:

The Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub is an early intervention service designed to support children aged 0–12 years and their families and caregivers. Through a dedicated multidisciplinary team, the Hub will deliver a broad range of evidence-informed supports, including therapeutic interventions, group programs, parenting support, peer and family support, cognitive assessments, and outreach services; tailored to meet the needs of children and families.

The Role:

The Clinical Lead is responsible for providing clinical leadership, coordination, and oversight of service delivery within the Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub. The role plays a key part in supporting the effective operation of the service through the leadership and coordination of staff, clinical resources, and program delivery to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care for children aged 0-12 years, as well as their parents/caregivers and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee service delivery and associated planning.
  • Ensure that clinical and administrative standards are maintained.
  • Provide direct service delivery to clients as required, including referrals, intake, assessment, active hold, complaints, complex enquiries and support.
  • Ensure clinicians maintain professional communication and provide timely responses to stakeholders.
  • Maintain a small active hold caseload as agreed with the Kids Hub Manager.
  • Work across multidisciplinary teams, including partners, stakeholders and interagency members to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Attend interagency and networking events to promote the Kids Hub.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility in one of the following: 1. Registration with AHPRA as a psychologist, both generally registered psychologist and clinical psychologists; 2. Mental Health accredited Social Workers holding AASW membership; 3. a Better Access to Mental Health endorsed Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and/or families.
  • Commitment to and proficiency delivering evidence-based practice.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and time management skills.
  • 3 to 5 years clinical experience providing direct therapeutic support to clients.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
