Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn is a leading not-for-profit organisation with a presence in the community for over 60 years providing a range of services. We are looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources Officer to join our friendly and supportive HR team.
The Opportunity:
This role will suit a motivated and experienced HR Officer who is able to work independently and has a passion for all things HR. You will be responsible for providing a range of HR operational support and services to help meet business objectives and the needs of employee's and Manager's.
Key responsibilities include:
- Recruitment and Onboarding - advertising, candidate application management, revision of PD's and assisting with Corporate Orientation.
- Work Health and Safety - assisting with Risk Assessments and site inspections, coordination of First Aid, Fire Wardens and WHS training and maintaining records, assisting with WorkCover Claims and Return to Work activities when required.
- Training and Development - coordinating staff training, liaising with external training providers, managing the administration and recording of all training and professional development records.
- Compliance - ensuring worker registers and verification checks are kept up to date.
- General HR Support - assisting with the day-to-day operations of the HR function, providing monthly HR reports to the Directors, administration support to the Director Human Resources and back up for payroll.
The Person:
You will have strong attention to detail with a focus on ensuring accurate preparation of documentation. You will have a high level of organisational skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Key Selection Criteria
- Qualification in Human Resources or related field plus experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of Employment Laws and Regulations including EEO and WHS.
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to lead by example and model the organisations values through your own behaviour, making a positive contribution to workplace culture.
To be considered for this role you will be also required to hold:
- a current drivers license, and
- a Working with Vulnerable People Card.
You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check.
