Summary

The Manager of Family Services and Contact oversees Children's Contact Services and Counselling Services for children and families experiencing separation including a team of Family Workers and Counsellors.

You will have line management responsibilities for the culture and performance of the team, ensuring that systems, policies and procedures, effective communications, training, and other supports are in place for the provision of high quality standards and contractual obligations.

This is a fixed term, full time, parental leave cover for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • As an integral part of MCCG's management team, you will contribute to ensure quality and excellence in team culture and support, service performance, and systems and policies.
  • Lead, manage, mentor and motivate the Family Services team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance family support programmes.
  • Liase and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex/escalated issues.
  • Oversee the programs delivering services for children and families experiencing separation and interacting with the legal system throughout the ACT and NSW.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure sustainability of services.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting programme outcomes and needs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related discipline with at least 5 years relevant experience.
  • Program or social/community services management experience.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to supervise, develop, manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Presentation and group facilitation experience as well as a solid understanding of clinical approaches, models and theories that underpin therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and strong organisational skills.
