• Maximum Term Contract - Part Time - 20 hpw (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) until December 2024

about the role

Maroondah City Council is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Youth Support Worker to support the implementation of youth programs and events, including Maroondah’s FReeZA Program and EV’s Hangout drop-in program. The role will co-facilitate community and school-based youth programs that raise the wellbeing of young people aged 10 – 25 years.

Applicants must have excellent group work, youth participation and event delivery skills. With demonstrated experience empowering young people from a youth participation approach, the successful applicant will be self-motivated, and have a genuine desire to empower and improve the lives of local young people.

Relevant tertiary qualifications and a proven ability to engage and work with young people and the wider community are essential. Knowledge of and commitment to Positive Psychology and demonstrated experience in local government is an advantage.

This position involves occasional late night and weekend work to deliver events so flexibility is essential. Availability on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday is essential.
