The Opportunity

We're looking for a Community Development and Partnerships Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping service and community networks, resilience, and inclusion. In this leadership position, you'll spearhead collaborative, innovative initiatives in areas such as food insecurity, homelessness, and First Nations reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor the implementation of key strategies including our Reconciliation Action Plan, Food Inequality Strategy, and Homelessness Protocol.
  • Build and strengthen purposeful partnerships across sectors to improve access, coordination, and community outcomes.
  • Scope and deliver integrated community development projects that reflect local strengths, needs, and aspirations.
  • Provide strategic advice, collect and analyse data for continuous improvement, and advocate for community priorities at local and regional forums.
  • Ensure that cultural safety, inclusion, and co-design are embedded across all initiatives.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in community development, social sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in community development—local government experience is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of equity, social justice, and the principles of community-led development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills—you know how to build trust, negotiate, and foster collaborative impact.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety and working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and reporting skills.
