Margaret Tucker Hostel (MTH) has been a sanctuary of cultural strength and support since 1988. Named after the inspirational Aunty Margaret Tucker MBE—a fierce advocate for Aboriginal rights—our hostel offers crisis accommodation to young Aboriginal women aged 15–18 experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
We’re proud to be a culturally safe, empowering space rooted in community connection, care, and healing. If you're passionate about creating real change and walking alongside young women on their journey, we want you on our team.
As a Support Worker, you’ll be part of a close-knit team providing holistic, culturally informed care to young Aboriginal women. You’ll support them with daily living skills, connection to culture, and access to services in housing, education, employment and wellbeing.
You’ll play a vital role in shaping a safe, respectful and nurturing environment—one where young women feel seen, heard, and supported to grow.
First Aid Certificate is a bonus but not essential.
We Strongly Encourage Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Women to Apply.
We value lived experience, community knowledge and cultural connection as deeply as formal qualifications. If this role speaks to your heart, even if you don’t tick every box, please apply.
