The Role

We are on the lookout for an energetic and hands-on store manager who wants to make a real difference for the planet and get paid for it! The manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our shop while being supported by a deputy manager and an enthusiastic and dedicated team of paid staff and volunteers. The manager reports to the Co-op Board of Directors.

Your day will consist of:

  • Stock management, including ordering and receiving goods.
  • Leading and coaching a team of staff and volunteers.
  • Customer service and sales including maintaining and improving the customer experience
  • Store supervision to ensure health and safety regulation compliance, effective product display and merchandising, and continual improvement of the store’s visual appeal and appearance.
  • Daily social media updates to inform members of new products, seasonal fresh produce arrivals and other store news.
  • Other duties that may be required from time to time to manage the demands and needs of the store.

About you:

  • You’ll have previous work experience in a retail store, ideally at supervisor/management level
  • You’ll have previous experience in leading a team, and you love coaching, training, and inspiring others
  • You’re passionate about customer service
  • You communicate well, both in writing and verbally, and with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • You have a creative mind when it comes to merchandising and promotions
  • You must hold a Basic Food Handling Certificate
  • We’d love it if you already hold a Food Safety Supervisor qualification
