We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Fundraising & Events Coordinator to join our awesome team based in Richmond on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Role

The role is an integral part of the Make-A-Wish organisation and is responsible for adopting a real hands-on approach for supporting the activity within the Volunteer Fundraising Program. You will be responsible for coaching and building strong relationships with over 60 volunteer branches whilst at the same time, providing continuous support to our volunteers to enable them to host successful fundraising activities and events. This could be anything from a Bunnings BBQ, Street Appeal, High Tea or a Black Tie Gala Ball.

Responsibilities of this Role

• Regular phone calls and email communication to our volunteers and resolving any queries via phone and email
• Prioritising responsive communication and timely resolution of all queries
• Providing presentations at Branch meetings and ensuring you develop outstanding relationships with volunteers
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, key external suppliers and fundraising intermediaries
• Alongside the Volunteer Fundraising Manager, develop and execute a strategy to engage volunteer branches to connect with their local community to assist with fundraising initiatives
• Provide exceptional and timely administrative support to volunteers for their volunteer fundraising events including coordination of creative development, managing ticketing using a third part website (Sticky Tickets) and ensuring all risk requirements are met
• Reach out to community groups to ensure maximum events and campaign success and make sure all operations are within budget
• Ensure the collection of social media and general media content is shared with our Marketing, Digital and Engagement team
• Managing merchandise stock levels and assisting with the postage of all fundraising items
• Ensure all data records are accurate and up to date

About You

• Prior experience working within a relationship building and client interfacing role in an administration capacity would be advantageous
• Experience and demonstrated ability with telemarketing would be beneficial
• Experience in Event coordination will be highly regarded
• Experience in fundraising is a bonus, but is not essential
• An understanding of managing events and volunteers would be ideal
• Previous close working relationships with external stakeholders would be advantageous, as would a solid understanding of not for profit organisations
• Prior experience using CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce would be desirable
• Experience managing email communications would be advantageous as would setting up automated emails
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, negotiation and networking skills with an ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of people
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• An ability to manage a budget and experience working toward income budgets and targets would be desirable
• An interest in motivating and supporting others is required
