About your opportunity

We have an amazing opportunity for a Volunteer Experience Coordinator to join the team in Melbourne to manage leadership of the Make-A-Wish metro branches across Australia.

You will be responsible for identifying tailored strategies to assist facilitating volunteer engagement within the organisation by building relationships within the branch leaders, advocating for volunteer needs and overseeing how metro branches are managed to ensure you can support them to work closely with Make-A-Wish nationally.

As a true ‘people person’ you will have a natural ability to be empathetic, to lead productive and respectful conversations but also comfortable giving direction. Your strong communication and relationship building abilities will be paramount alongside your innovative outlook and strong influencing skills.

Responsibilities of the position will include:

• Actively build and nurture relationships with key volunteers across all metro branches and demographics
• Develop toolkits, training, and other resources to enable efficient leadership support at scale
• Develop new and innovative volunteer leadership program initiatives which complement existing branch structures
• Understand growing trends in the volunteer sector and identify new opportunities for development in metro areas
• Streamline workflows and processes of the Volunteer Programs Team and implement system changes
• Act as an advocate for volunteers, communicating needs & challenges to the broader business
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure Wishes continue to be granted everyday

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience within a similar role and/or qualifications within HR ideal
• Experience in working with and managing volunteers would be advantageous
• Experience in working with either customer service, stakeholder management and managing and coordinating various groups
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• A positive, helpful approach
• A natural savviness for technology and innovation
