Fundraising Coordinator

Make-A-Wish

About Make-A-Wish:

Make-A-Wish is one of Australia's most trusted charities and part of the largest wish-granting organisations in the world. We partner with children with life threatening conditions, their families and medical teams to grant wishes as unique as the children who imagine them. At Make-A-Wish, our mission is to grant the wish of every eligible child as we believe these wishes complement treatment, build resilience and bring hope to these children and their families when they need it most.

Make-A-Wish Australia can offer employees:

  • The opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of critically ill children in an internationally renowned charity organisation,
  • A flexible and inclusive workplace, with excellent work-life balance,
  • Wellbeing support including an Employee Assistance Program,
  • Opportunities for career progression, and
  • Access to salary packaging arrangements.

About the Role:

The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for providing essential coordination and administrative support across key fundraising functions, while cultivating strong relationships with donors and community stakeholders. This role plays a vital part in delivering an exceptional supporter experience and ensuring the success of fundraising initiatives through effective systems, communications and stewardship.

A central part of this role involves managing both inbound and outbound calls with Regular Giving donors, supporting them with updates to their monthly gifts, resolving enquiries, and ensuring high-quality, personalised service.

In addition to donor care, you will support the broader Fundraising team by assisting with data entry, donation processing, stewardship communications, and community fundraising. You will coordinate and support fundraising activities driven by individuals, third-party fundraisers, schools, universities, and businesses—building strong relationships, monitoring satisfaction, and helping elevate the overall supporter experience.

About You:

You’re purpose-driven, organised, and passionate about creating great experiences for supporters, donors and community fundraisers. You enjoy helping people, solving problems and working as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.

You bring a warm, positive attitude to your work and are confident speaking with people – whether over the phone, via email or in person. You may have experience in customer service, fundraising, administration or call centres, and you're ready to grow your skills in a meaningful role.

You’re comfortable juggling multiple tasks, using databases or CRMs (Salesforce experience is a bonus), and have a great eye for detail. You’re someone who knows when to take initiative and when to collaborate – always striving for the best outcome.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in fundraising, customer service or administration
  • A friendly, professional communication style – especially over the phone
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to support and build relationships with donors, fundraisers and volunteers
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, adaptable mindset
  • A team-first approach and willingness to pitch in wherever needed

Fundraising and/or call centre experience is desirable but not essential – if you’re ready to learn and make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
