About the Program

The Family Relationship Centre (FRC) helps separating families achieve workable parenting arrangements outside the court system by providing information, support, referral and dispute resolution services.

The FRC is overseen by consortium that includes MacKillop (Lead agency) and Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre.

About the Role

The FRC Manager will lead and co-ordinate the day to day operations of the Family Relationship Centre, with a focus on innovation, best practice and exemplary service delivery. The role will be critical in the maintenance and growth of cross-sector partnerships as well as to lead and inspire a dedicated FRC team.

The Centre Manager also provides support and organisational supervision for MacKillop staff based at the FRC Geelong, (Lead agency – CatholicCare) who are clinically supervised and managed by the local FRC Centre Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Children, Youth and Families, this is an ongoing, part time position (0.8 EFT) and is situated within the Family Relationship Centre (FRC) in Broadmeadows. Some travel is required in this role.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • Knowledge and expertise of the Family Law Act as relevant to the work done within Family Relationship Centres.
  • Experience in Family Dispute Resolution.
  • Proven ability to manage, lead and motivate staff teams to deliver quality human services.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with families experiencing relationship difficulties, including a sound understanding of family violence, mental health issues and drug and alcohol addiction.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to use highly developed communication both written and verbal to work collaboratively with team members, stakeholders and the broader community.
  • Proven capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with government departments, key stakeholders and communities.
  • Experience working with and implementing data systems and processes.
