The MacDonnell region is located in the centre of Australia. Covering 270,000sq km and with an estimated population approaching 7,000, it has a unique beauty with picturesque water holes, magnificent flora and fauna, red desert sands and rugged mountain ranges.
As Manager Governance and Compliance you will be responsible for effective operation of administrative and governance functions and for ensuring Council meets all legislative, statutory, policy and performance obligation. Other key areas of focus will include liaising with Executive Leadership Team, Director Corporate Services, coordinating with electoral officials to assist in facilitation of general and by elections.
Ideally Diploma in Business/ Local Government Administration or equivalent experience in similar governance role, you will have knowledge of current statutory, legal obligations and compliance within the Governance field and ability to interpret legislation and policies. You will require the ability to represent the organisation and negotiate with stakeholders to promote objectives and communicate strategic direction and vision.
