The MacDonnell region is located in the centre of Australia. Covering 270,000sq km and with an estimated population approaching 7,000, it has a unique beauty with picturesque water holes, magnificent flora and fauna, red desert sands and rugged mountain ranges.
As the Coordinator Community Safety, you will be responsible for coordinating the effective delivery of Community Safety programs in designated MacDonnell Regional Council communities and ensure that the responsibilities of this positon are carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, Council policies and procedures, contractual requirements, and the core values of the Council.
This position will be based in Alice Springs with frequent travel to the allocated communities across the MacDonnell Region.
The successful candidate will ideally have at least 12 months of experience in a similar role with a keen interest in learning about Aboriginal culture and hold a current C Class drivers Licence and a 4WD Certificate. The ideal candidate will also have a high level of communication skills and ability to foster collaborative frameworks with community stakeholders, including training and mentoring staff with different levels of literacy and numeracy.
