We are Australia’s largest not-for-profit animal hospital treating around 20,000 animals a year across two locations. Our North Melbourne hospital and clinic provides a broad range of veterinary and emergency services, and our Campbellfield Adoption Centre is a vet clinic and shelter. Finding new forever homes for surrendered animals as well as providing emergency boarding for the pets of people who are navigating crisis.

Our focus is on how we can best support the team at Lort Smith Animal Hospital to continue to provide veterinary and animal care to the pets of the general community, but most especially to people who are struggling financially. Making sure pets enjoy a happy and healthy life, with the people who love them.
Reporting to the Head of Media and Digital Content, you will play a key role in supporting our traditional media and social media strategy to exponentially boost public interest and foster real engagement within our pet-loving community, clients, donors and supporters.
It is essential that you are an experienced social media operator with at least two consecutive years in a similar role. You will be used to sourcing, developing, writing and producing highly engaging socials that resonate with target audiences and result in high levels of engagement. You will also be very familiar with what works within traditional media: Print, radio and broadcast.
You will have experience of researching and collecting hard evidence in support of emerging topics that are of media interest. A formal qualification in communications or journalism will be well regarded. Experience working in the not-for profit sector will be a bonus.
