Role Overview:
The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repairs, and safety of LMA facilities, including the Mosque, community centres, offices, and associated properties.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring that our spaces remain functional, presentable, and aligned with the standards of respect, cleanliness, and care upheld within an Islamic environment.
Core Objectives Include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitise restrooms, public spaces, and outdoor areas.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs (plumbing, doors, windows, furniture).
- Inspect the facility regularly and assist with event setups and general upkeep.
- Maintain outdoor spaces with basic landscaping and waste management.
- Follow Work Health & Safety (WHS) guidelines and use appropriate protective equipment.
- Respect the religious and cultural significance of the environment when working around sacred spaces.
Skills and Requirements:
- Previous experience in maintenance, cleaning, or groundskeeping roles.
- Basic plumbing, repair, and gardening skills (not essential).
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and complete tasks efficiently.
- Physically fit and safety-conscious.
- Understanding and respect for Islamic practices and religious spaces.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive work ethic.
