Link-Up (NSW) Aboriginal Corporation (Link-Up) assists all eligible Aboriginal people who have been directly affected by past government policies; being separated from their families and culture through forced removal; being fostered, adopted or raised in institutions. Link-Up supports the healing journeys of those removed delivering professional, culturally sensitive and confidential research, reunions and Social, Emotional and Wellbeing services.

We are currently seeking a creative and confident Aboriginal Design & Media Coordinator to join our team. You will believe in the vision and mission of Link-Up (NSW) and uphold our values that are evident in the way you work.

Working 35 hours per week. Currently 4 days in the office and one day from home, however in 2024 it will be back to 5 days in the office.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Create digital Aboriginal artwork, graphic design, and media for various projects across the organisation as needed.
  2. Create, maintain, and update content on digital platforms.
  3. Build on and execute digital marketing strategy, including managing and building social media presence, engaging followers on platforms.
  4. Create Annual Report and Quarterly newsletter including artwork and collating all content from across the organisation.
  5. Collaborate with Events & Marketing to create various marketing materials and assist with the creation of merchandise.
  6. Creation of all advertisements.
  7. Assist with marketing ideas and projects.

Essential Criteria

  • The ideal candidate would have studied social media marketing at a Certificate IV or Diploma level (or similar) or willing to partake in studies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Stolen Generation and the impact of past Government policies on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for design and content.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team including working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position.
