WHO ARE WE?

Lighthouse Foundation provides homes and therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse, and homelessness. Our focus is to create caring communities where kids can feel safe, form meaningful relationships, and begin to heal from traumatic experiences. For the past 30 years, our proven Model of Care has successfully transformed the lives of over 1,000 young people using a range of evidence-based strategies. We now educate and support Foster Carers in the same way, so that they too can take care of some of Australia’s most vulnerable children.

HOW WILL I HELP?

This role will entail end-to-end management and researching of grant opportunities that both directly and indirectly support the Young People within our programs. By working with a tight knit team and collaborating across the organisation your work will support the provision of funds to further grow and develop our therapeutic programs and our mission to provide homes and care to vulnerable young people.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

First and foremost, interpersonal skills are a must, with a level of maturity and understanding needed when working with those who use and support our services.

From a professional standpoint you will require:

• Flexibility to work outside of office hours and to travel for meetings
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
• High level of administrative skills, attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced group facilitation and presentation skills
• Well-developed interpersonal, communication (verbal & written), networking and liaison skills
• Ability to problem solve and work on own initiative
• Ability to meet funding and reporting deadlines
• Commitment to submit high quality proposals/applications in a timely manner
• Commitment to Lighthouse Foundations Privacy Policy & Values
• Ability to work independently on projects and as part of a team
• Ability to plan, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines as required
• Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Other key skills which would be desirable:

• Demonstrated experience in similar roles
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma informed practice
• Demonstrated grant funding management or experience

For this role you will please note you will also need:

• Current driver’s license
• Valid first aid certificate (if necessary) (or willingness to obtain one)
• Criminal Records check
• Current Working with Children check
