About the role

The Registered Nurse provides high quality clinical services, medical knowledge, and skills to support Children, Young People and their Carers. Working closely with Allied Health and Medical Professionals, you will support Children and Young People who have a variety of complex health needs. To be successful in this role, you will need to understand trauma and have experience working with children in a paediatric setting. Based out of our Hurstville office Monday to Friday, the service delivery area for this role is Southern and Western NSW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical Nursing and Medical expertise
  • Develop Complex Health Care plans to assist Carers understand and manage a range of health conditions
  • Review and monitor current health care plans and update as necessary
  • Liaise with medical and allied health professionals to enhance the well-being of children and young people
  • Assess and train Carers to understand and enact health care plans, including medical procedures and treatments correctly and accurately
  • Review and assess Children and young People in placements for new or emerging health conditions
  • Support and promote the work of Life Without Barriers, maintaining a positive image of the organisation in accordance with the level of the position.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualification in Nursing and current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Significant experience working with children and young people who have complex health needs
  • Current knowledge and demonstrated experience of clinical practice in the area of health planning.
  • Experience working with children and young people with trauma and disability
  • Current Drivers Licence.
