About the Role

Make a positive impact in the lives of people with disability in your local community, providing in-home one on one support to people in their homes across various suburbs of South-West Sydney.

The successful candidate will have experience with positive behavioural support and have worked with people with a range of physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities. You will be required to travel to different suburbs to provide in-home support to individual people.

We are seeking applications for permanent roles only as we know having familiar and stable staff increases the wellbeing of people we support and is more effective in helping them achieve their goals. The permanent part timelines and locations of work available are as follows (detailed rosters can be provided upon request):

  • Line 1 – 23.5 hours per fortnight across Picnic Point, Padstow, Revesby and Lidcombe.
  • Line 2 – 6 hours per fortnight across South Granville, Lidcombe and Bossley Park.
  • Line 3 – 20 hours per fortnight in Lidcombe.
  • Line 4 – 6.25 hours per fortnight in Smithfield, Greenvalley and Fairfield
  • Line 5 – 41.75 hours per fortnight in St Helens Park, Rosemeadow, Macquarie Fields, Lurnea, Hinchinbrook, Mt Pritchard, Green valley and Liverpool.
  • Line 6 – 49.25 hours per fortnight in Ingleburn, St Helens Park, Leumeah, Macquarie Fields and Lurnea.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assistance with daily living (including personal care where needed)
  • Community access and transport (with the use of your own vehicle)
  • Domestic assistance (support with household chores)
  • Maintain and monitor person-centred plans
  • Documenting and progress note keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting people with disability 
  • Australian Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle 
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Willing to complete basic household chores
  • Confidence and experience in providing personal care
  • Passionate about delivering Person-Centred care

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
