New Max term Part time positions is available in Brunswick. Provide disability support for people in their own homes and enable community participation.
Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose, not for profit organisation of 8,000 employees working in more than 500 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers.
Empowering people with disability to live life the way they choose is at the heart of how Life Without Barriers has operated for over 25 years. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and continue this mission. Support people with disability to have the choice, control, and independence to live their best life. If you’re passionate about inclusivity, respect, and making a meaningful difference, this is the career move for you.
We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.
We have a new & exciting model of support that requires Sleep-over staff in our brand new home. This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability. You will provide support for residents living in a supported accommodation home in Brunswick. You will have your own Sleep over room in the facility.
These roles will commence as Max term for 6 to 12 months, with the very real expectation that they will become permanent ongoing roles.
Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment.
The house is situated in a part of Brunswick with exceptionally limited parking. There is no parking available on the premises for staff. If you use public transport, cycle, and live locally to the area this would be the ideal role for you. Our group home is in a residential street.
Your knowledge of and connection to the local Brunswick area, community and culture would be a great benefit as you will be able to connect the residents with their local surrounds. Bring your own self to Life Without Barriers.
Please note: Mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations may be required for this position, in accordance with relevant Public Health Orders across all States and Territories. In these circumstances, evidence of vaccination will be required prior to an offer of employment.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
