Provide day to day care for residents in our Supported Independent Living home in Forster whilst we support you to build your career in Disability Support!

About the role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disabilities. The assistance you will be required to provide will differ on the support needs of each client, however, experience with personal care, manual handling, and behaviour support will be highly regarded.

Due to the nature of these Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, you will be required to work flexibly across a 24/7 roster and pick up a range of shifts including active night shifts and weekends.

Skills & Experience

  • Current unrestricted driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disabilities
  • Cert IV Disability highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • Access to a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet which is compatible with LWB’s Company Portal
  • Employees may be required to transport clients in their own car, which must have Third Party insurance at minimum

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
