About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play an important role to support and empower People with disability to live independently in their own home, access the community and to achieve their individual goals. Your daily duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Providing personal care support such as showering, toileting and personal grooming.
  • Assisting with domestic duties such as meal preparation, cleaning and other household tasks
  • Supporting People with Disability to access and participate in the community
  • Medication administration
  • Adhering to individual plans, and working towards each client’s goals
  • Completion of client documentation including progress notes

These casual positions are based in the Port Macquarie region. Successful applicants are required to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes short shifts, and regular shift work (night shifts, weekends and public holidays)

Skills & Experience 

  • Experience providing active support to People with Disability, Behaviours of concern and/or complex support needs
  • Certificate III in Disability, Community Services or similar (Preferred)
  • Current Drivers Licence, NSW Working with Children Check and current First Aid Certificate
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with clients, families, colleagues and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client choice, inclusion and the delivery of individualised supports
  • Good written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to complete basic computer based tasks

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
