About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will provide financial leadership and stewardship to Life without Barriers (LWB) ensuring financial sustainability and robust Governance. Responsible for the leadership, direction and management of all Finance related teams (circa 45 FTE), you will apply strong financial acumen, analytical, planning and communication skills to work with the Executive team, Board and senior leaders to ensure the organisations commercial outcomes are in alignment with its strategic business objectives.

You will be responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and operationalisation of all finance activities including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and commercial negotiations. You will use data, analysis and insights to lead and support the business’s current and future strategy and financial sustainability. You will find alignment with the LWB Values of Relationships, Imagination, Courage, Respect and Responsiveness.

You will be a transformational Finance leader who is energised by the thought of significantly uplifting the technology, processes and capabilities of the Finance team. Located in either Sydney or Newcastle, we are committed to our employees having access to a COVD safe office environment while enabling flexible work options.

Qualifications & experience required

• Strategic thinking, with the ability to drive organisation-wide initiatives that support our Purpose and Values, with the capacity to plan and prioritise at the strategic level.
• Strong track record in Finance transformation with demonstrable experience raising the capability and systems of a Finance function.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build a shared understanding of, and commitment to the organisation’s Purpose and Values.
• The ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
• Tertiary level qualifications, qualified and registered Chartered or Certified Practising Accountant.
• Demonstrated experience in a Senior Finance leadership role within an organisation with a complex, demanding and dynamic funding environment.
• Experience managing a team of finance professionals, fostering effective teams focussed on achieving team goals.
• Ability to manage a broad range of organisational financial and information systems.
• Advanced and proven problem-solving skills, and ability to think laterally and strategically.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
