Headquartered in Smeaton Grange, we provide crisis support services that help change the focus in people’s lives from crisis to opportunity and we promote emotional wellbeing and build community capacity in our local communities of South West Sydney, Macarthur and the Southern Highlands
Key responsibilities include:
- Support suicide prevention networks in the Liverpool, Bankstown and Fairfield LGA's.
- Support South West Sydney Regional Suicide prevention Hub to encourage collaboration of existing and emerging suicide prevention networks in the SWSLHD.
- In collaboration with the Lifeline Macarthur suicide bereavement support group coordinator, establish bereaved by suicide support groups in the Liverpool, Bankstown and Fairfield LGAs.
- Establish the formation of Support groups for suicide attempt survivors in the Liverpool, Bankstown and Fairfield LGAs.
- Identify means restriction strategies and improve data collection to decrease the number of suicide attempts in identified hotspot locations in South West Sydney.
- Foster partnerships in Bankstown, Liverpool and Fairfield with emphasis on CALD and ATSI communities.
Skills and experience required:
- Demonstrate an understanding of contemporary mental health issues and minimum 2 years experience working with clients with mental health issues.
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and negotiate sensitively with a broad range of stakeholders in the community.
- Strong skills in stakeholder communication and engagement.
- Ability to function constructively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant professional code of ethics and relevant legislation.
