Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is an internationally recognised independent, not-for-profit cancer hospital leading the way in delivering patient-centred cancer care. The Radiation Oncology department treats a wide range of cancers and has a well-established cranial stereotactic radiosurgery program, stereotactic body radiotherapy capabilities and is also part of the Lifehouse Sarcoma Specialist Centre with a dedicated bone and soft tissue sarcoma unit. The department has four linear accelerators (Varian Edge and TrueBeams), an orthovoltage unit and a brachytherapy unit. The department delivers over 1700 courses of radiation treatment each year and employs ten staff specialists and six registrars (including five accredited RANZCR training positions). The department plays an active role in MDTs across all tumour subsites within the Sydney Local Health District.
Applications are invited for a full-time Radiation Oncology Fellow appointment for up to 12 months duration for commencement in 2025. This position will be based at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Camperdown, NSW.
There may also be opportunity during the year for the Fellow to step-up to a Radiation Oncologist locum role for a limited period to provide leave cover, if they have the required specialist qualifications.
The Radiation Oncology Fellow is an integral part to our clinical services, working closely with the specialists and multidisciplinary teams. The role is aimed at applicants who have completed their radiation oncology training and wish to enhance their clinical and research interests.
Direct report: Director of Radiation Oncology. Clinical and research supervision with other Radiation Oncology specialists.
