About Us

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA) is the national peak health organisation in Australia, supporting healthy lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans/transgender, intersex, queer and other sexuality, gender, and bodily diverse people and communities throughout Australia and the world, free from stigma and discrimination.

About The Role

The Digital Health Director is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of digital health services, including the QLife service, MindOut-QLife and the Australian Digital Health Agency Project.

QLife provides Australia-wide anonymous, online and telephone peer support to LGBTIQ+ people across Australia. The focus of this role is to ensure that the QLife program is delivered to the highest standard and is guided by current research and models of best practice.

QLife is delivered in partnership with four (4) LGBTIQ+ community-controlled organisations, and this role requires a strong focus on stakeholder and workforce engagement, visionary leadership, inspiring excellence, strong collaboration across all partner sites, including supporting delivery partner CEOs to ensure quality standards, leadership and collaboration across program deliverables align.

The Australian Digital Health Agency Project aims to empower LGBTIQ+ people to make informed decisions about their health. This is achieved through community consultation and the development of resources related to digital health tools.

In addition, the Digital Health Director will ensure the smooth running of national advisory groups and governance committees, as well as staff and volunteer induction and training programs. The role is also accountable for the delivery of a consistent national service guided by QLife’s national operating model, practice framework, key performance indicators and robust monitoring systems and the role champions comprehensive people strategies that foster a positive, inclusive culture, enhancing employee and volunteer engagement.

The Digital Health Director works strategically with the Acting Executive Director: National Learning and Capacity Building Programs, the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Director, and QLife partners to ensure QLife services are maximised. The work of this role is guided by the deliverables and key performance indicators in the program’s funding contracts and this role is pivotal in working with the greater LHA team to implement our strategic priorities outlined in the 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, and the 10 year (2025 -2035) National Action Plan for the Health and Wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ People.

All roles at LHA must place the needs of LGBTIQ+ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, BrotherBoys and SisterGirls as a priority across all our programs.
