About the position

LETS Grow Free is seeking to appoint four new committee members to help steer the exciting next phase in developing the Organisation.

The positions are based remotely. Anyone in Australia is welcome to apply.

We are seeking to attract interest from potential applicants before our AGM in February 2024.  

ABOUT LETS Grow Free

LETS Grow Free is a newly created, Australia wide, not-for-profit organisation. LETS Grow Free is a "Community Exchange System" with a special focus on the Wellbeing of community members who are struggling financially, physically and emotionally as a result of the pandemic years. 

Our primary goal is to build community resilience and preparedness for what may be tough times ahead with possibly more pandemics, financial crashes and natural disasters.  

Some of the current themes we are exploring centre on

  • Self-Reliance
  • Physical, Mental and Emotional Wellbeing of members
  • Reducing Costs of Living through Trading of Goods and Services without a dollar costing
  • Accessible and affordable health care

We are looking for people with background, skills and experience in one or more of the following:

  • Strategic Planning - we are currently writing our 3 year Strategic Plan and welcome your input
  • Policy Writing - we are currently refining our Mission Statement and Policies and Procedures 
  • Fund Raising - experience in writing applications for grants 
  • Finance and Accounting - keeping of registers of financial incomings and outgoings. Providing a "Treasurers Report" at Committee meetings
  • Communications and Social Media - ability to host zooms and to coordinate social media postings
  • Volunteer Recruitment and Management - attracting volunteers to our organisation through advertising, incentives and promotions. Providing training, ongoing guidance and  support to our community volunteers

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES

  • An understanding of the not-for-profit sector and membership-based Organisations in Australia.
  • A strong existing network that can help drive opportunities and outcomes for the organisation.
  • A strong interest in Community Resilience and Preparedness

 TIME COMMITMENT

  • Committee members are currently responsible for the management of operational activities given the Organisation has no employed staff.
  • Attend (via Zoom) fortnightly scheduled committee meetings of approximately 1 hour each, as well as additional meetings from time to time that may be required throughout the year.
  • Attend the AGM once per year for up to 2 hours. This will either be in-person or via Zoom.
  • Contribute, on average, a minimum of 8 volunteer hours per month 
  • Undertake special projects and assignments in conjunction with other committee members to assist in progressing the Organisation’s purpose and mission.
