Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.
Legal Aid NSW has received temporary funding for a statewide Respect at Work Legal Service (RAWLS) that provides trauma-informed advice and representation services to those who have experienced sexual harassment and/or discrimination at work. RAWLS is working closely with service partners in government, the community, justice and health sectors in developing referral pathways and providing community legal education to priority client groups across the state.
The Grade IV Legal Officer in RAWLS will contribute to the leadership and supervision of the RAWLS team.
The role provides high quality and trauma-informed advice, minor assistance and casework services to clients in sexual harassment and discrimination matters.
You are a Lawyer with substantial experience in discrimination and/or employment law, who can respond sensitively to the needs of people who have experienced sexual harassment and/or discrimination. You have a commitment to high quality service delivery.
You will have strong leadership and practice supervision skills with a commitment to work collaboratively to manage a team dispersed across the state.
We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.
