ABOUT CASACV

CASACV facilitates the recovery and healing of victim-survivors of sexual violence and assault and works towards the prevention and elimination of sexual violence in society. CASACV delivers specialist evidenced-based therapeutic services across the Central Victorian Region for children, young people and adults, and their support networks.

CASACV’s services are free and confidential and include:

  • Specialist counselling to adults, young people and children who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence either recently or in the past, and to their non-offending parents, partners, family and friends.
  • A 24-hour crisis care response to victims of recent sexual assault, including crisis counselling, support and advocacy, and access to medical care and justice services.
  • A family focused, prevention and early intervention therapeutic service to children and young people under the age of 18 who have engaged in problematic or harmful sexualised behaviours (HSB) via the REFOCUS Program.
  • Specialised advocacy, secondary consultation, community education and professional training across the sector and within the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Team Leader Children Youth and Families is an integral member of the leadership team at CASACV and works closely with other Team Leaders under the guidance and direction of the Therapeutic Services and Programs Manager. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of consistent, high quality and evidence-based therapeutic services to clients.

The role of Team Leader is to provide day to day operational and therapeutic leadership for the Children Youth and Families Team, including overseeing recruitment, induction, coaching / mentoring, and undertaking supervision and performance management. The position is responsible for fostering a cohesive, supportive and positive working experience for all team members and promoting a safe and effective environment for the people who engage with CASACV’s services.

The Team Leader benefits from an organisation comprised of highly skilled and qualified practitioners and leaders, with access to regular clinical and organisational supervision, as well as valuable peer and business support.

The Team Leader, Children Youth and Families Team also holds a small caseload of harmful sexual behaviour and sexual assault specialist counselling clients.

ABOUT YOU

You are passionate about leading an exceptional team of individuals who share a vision of a community free of sexual assault and family violence.

With a Bachelor’s degree or above qualification in social work, psychology, family therapy or similar discipline, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • At least 2 to 3 years of leadership experience supervising a multidisciplinary team of professionals
  • A minimum of 5 years counselling experience / direct service provision within a related discipline or sector
  • Proven ability to lead and manage in complex and specialist areas of work
  • Strong positive leadership and the ability to identify opportunities for driving continuous quality improvement
  • Experience and understanding of a range of feminist, systemic and trauma informed frameworks and practice
  • Ability to clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions
  • Proven skills in leading critical reflection
  • Ability to implement a planned approach to group delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
