Community Moderator & Content Creator - Remote / Work from Home

Latitude Network

About Us

Latitude Network is a social impact consultancy with a mission to improve the performance of social service organisations, through better use of data. We work with not-for-profit organisations and government agencies to develop innovative approaches to complex social issues from homelessness and mental health to young people and education.

The Community Moderator role

We run data collaboration projects across sectors that involve organisations sharing data on outcomes and social impact, and to support these projects we run online communities with course content, dialogue and live events. The Community Moderator role would be responsible to build and drive those communities to help people working in social organisations to connect, develop confidence and skills around using data in the workplace.

This is a communications role that’s not about fundraising - it’s about creating content and mobilising people in the social sector to learn and take action on data and achieve better outcomes for beneficiaries. We serve executives, Boards and managers of social service organisations.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm around social impact, people skills and initiative, and skilled at creating effective communications (blogs, posts, video, other content). It’s desirable that you have experience in the social services sector and / or working with data.

This is a flexible part-time role that can be done at any time of the week, working from home, though some hours need to be during normal business hours. May suit someone with carer or study responsibilities. Exact number of hours can be negotiated but likely start at 2 days (16 hours) per week.

Key skills and capabilities

  • Commitment to social impact and passion to make a difference
  • A ‘digital native’ comfortable with social media, using various online tools for marketing and communications to wide audiences
  • Strong communication skills - writing clear, concise content
  • Ability to use a variety of online content and design tools to enhance content (e.g. using AI tools to generate visuals) and engage audiences
  • Demonstrated aptitude for developing good relationships with different people
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to ‘get things done’

Key tasks

  • Moderate and activate a private online community for social service organisations - posting content, moderating discussions and planning online (or offline) events
  • Work with the Director to develop a content strategy, set speaking platforms, and develop engaging learning content for the online community
  • Drive the wider communications strategy of engaging social services organisations including social media, website and email marketing
  • Develop and post content, interviews, case studies and marketing materials to promote good practices for using data for social impact
