Landcare Tasmania is the peak body supporting the grassroots Landcare movement across the state. As a not-for-profit and registered charity, we empower over 7,000 volunteers through our 300+ member groups to protect and enhance Tasmania’s natural and working landscapes. Our small, passionate team collaborates with community groups, businesses, government bodies, and environmental organisations to achieve meaningful sustainability outcomes. About the Role

At Landcare Tasmania, our members are at the heart of everything we do. As Community Engagement Manager, you’ll play a vital role in supporting, strengthening, and growing our network of passionate members, volunteers, farmers, schools, and community groups.

You will lead a dedicated team to strengthen relationships, enhance engagement, and ensure our members have the resources they need to thrive. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker, relationship builder, and problem-solver who is passionate about community-led conservation.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of engagement coordinators
  • Developing and implementing member engagement strategies
  • Managing membership services, ensuring accessibility and financial viability
  • Overseeing data collection and reporting on membership trends
  • Supporting members in project delivery and grant utilisation
  • Collaborating on outreach events and communication strategies

This role is office-based, with some flexibility for remote work and occasional travel across Tasmania.

You enjoy building relationships, driving engagement, and ensuring members feel supported.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams
  • Strategic planning expertise in community engagement
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and digital platforms (NationBuilder, ClickUp)
  • Ability to collect, analyse, and report on membership trends
  • Knowledge of land management or conservation (preferred but not essential)
