Landcare NT is the peak body representing Landcare groups in the NT. We support our members - community Landcare groups - who are bringing people together, sharing knowledge and taking action to improve the health of their local natural environment.

Landcare NT aims to represent, strengthen, support and grow the NT’s community Landcare movement, so together we can improve the health of the natural environment working landscapes for the community and future generations. We also advocate on behalf of our members to promote the community Landcare movement as part of the National Landcare Network.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative communications professional with a can-do attitude to help us demonstrate Landcare NT’s impact and grow support for our members.

Reporting to the Executive Officer, you will play a vital role in engaging our members and wider supporter base, and take the lead on creating and delivering effective marketing and communications content for a variety of audiences.

This role is requires a hybrid working arrangement and is only open to NT permanent residents.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement Membership strategies in collaboration with the Executive Officer and Committee and maintain the Membership Register.
  • Develop strong relationships with the membership including through timely and effective communications.
  • Collaborate with Landcare NT staff/Committee to review, update, and implement the Landcare NT Marketing and Communications Strategy and communications plans for key LNT Projects.
  • Collaborate with Landcare NT staff/Committee to develop and implement a 12-month marketing and communications campaign across key channels.
  • Develop engaging written and visual content for Landcare NT’s communications platforms, stakeholders, and members.
  • Drive digital engagement with the LNT website and social media platforms.
  • Develop positive working relationships with journalists, media outlets and Communications Officer colleagues within our peak State and Territory Landcare organisations.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Hands-on experience in managing and implementing marketing/communications strategies.
  • Social media skills, especially in a not-for-profit/member-based organisation context.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to prepare documents for a variety of audiences.
  • Previous experience running Territory based media campaigns and established NT-based media relationships.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including independently and as part of a small team.
  • Self-motivated, with attention to detail, and exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Interest in community-based environmental management.
  • Current or willing to obtain National Police Check National Police Clearance and Ochre Card.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License and own transport.

Desirable Skills

  • Graphic design and video editing skills.
  • Experience with Mailchimp eDM platform.
  • Experience in environmental advocacy and campaigns.
