About Us

Kosmovision Foundation Ltd is an ACNC-registered health-promotion charity strengthening youth and community wellbeing through creative practice, storytelling, visual arts and community-based participation.

Funding makes our programs possible. As a volunteer Grant Writer, you will help Kosmovision secure the income it needs to reach more young people by finding the right funding opportunities and writing compelling, well-targeted applications.

About the role

You will work closely with the founders and program team, who will provide the program detail, outcomes, budgets and supporting documents you need. You will not be expected to develop program content alone. The role is flexible and can be done largely remotely.

What you'll do

  • Research and identify grant opportunities from government, foundations, philanthropic trusts and corporate funders.
  • Write clear, persuasive grant applications that align Kosmovision's programs with each funder's priorities and criteria.
  • Translate program activities and impact into the language and outcomes funders are looking for.
  • Coordinate with the team to gather the data, budgets and supporting documents each application needs.
  • Maintain a simple grants calendar or pipeline so deadlines and opportunities are not missed.
  • Support reporting and acquittals for successful grants where appropriate.

What you'll bring

  • Strong, clear writing and the ability to tell a compelling story with evidence.
  • Grant writing, bid writing or proposal experience is highly valued, but we also welcome strong writers seeking their first grant writing role.
  • Good research skills and attention to detail, including following funder guidelines precisely.
  • Organisation and the ability to manage deadlines independently.
  • An interest in youth mental health promotion, creative wellbeing and the communities Kosmovision serves.

What you'll gain

  • Real, portfolio-building experience in the not-for-profit sector.
  • A direct hand in growing a young charity and helping programs reach more young people.
  • A supportive and creative team environment.
  • A reference on request.
  • The opportunity to help turn funding into meaningful community programs.

Time commitment

This is a voluntary, unpaid role of approximately 3-5 hours per week, flexible around your schedule and able to be done remotely. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses may be reimbursed where approved in advance.

Diversity and inclusion

Kosmovision values diversity and inclusion and strongly encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, neurodivergent people, and people with lived experience connected to mental health and wellbeing.
