The opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, The Head of Clinical Delivery is responsible for the delivery of AKKF’s Clinical Services. This includes ensuring a key focus on supporting young people to thrive beyond the impacts of family mental illness, and
- Provide effective leadership and timely execution of AKKF programs within the clinical setting.
- Ensure all clinical team members possess the necessary mental health knowledge through comprehensive training.
- Equip the clinical team with adequate resources for successful program delivery.
- Ensure adequate clinical team personnel available to participate at AKKF programs.
- Lead the clinical team in alignment with AKKF values
This role is Part time at 4 days per week (0.8 FTE).
AKKF is a remote organisation and majority of the role will be performed while WFH.
Responsibilities include:
Clinical management:
- Oversee and manage the Clinical Service Delivery team, including permanent employees and independent mental health contractors, in planning and executing AKKF programs.
- Manage the referral and triage process, ensuring that Wellness Intervention Plans are established and that intake, triage, and review processes are conducted efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure timely and appropriate clinical follow-ups, including follow-up appointments, referrals, mandatory child protection reports, and documentation.
- Administer the allocation and rostering of the Clinical Services team (including Clinical Contractors) to ensure equitable workload management in compliance with legislative requirements, awards, and program delivery standards.
Compliant management and risk mitigation:
- Manage complaints and grievances promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure the effective management of mandatory reporting, disclosures, and any identified risks or concerns.
Program design & integrity:
- Ensure appropriate follow-up with families after program completion.
- Serve as the Senior Clinician on-call, providing support and guidance as needed on weekends, while managing and delegating the on-call roster.
- Mitigate clinical risks and ensure compliance with all regulations and reporting requirements.
Supporting our leaders:
- Prepare and present clinical input for reports intended for the board and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop risk management strategies
WHS and Risk Mitigation:
- Manage all aspects of clinical safety and risk management for AKKF programs. Analysing key risks and advise appropriate mitigation strategies in accordance with the overall risk management system
Financial management and reporting:
- Work closely with the AKKF fundraising team, contributing to and supporting the development of proposals, grants, and acquittals.
Management:
- Manage the Clinical Services team, fostering an open and supportive values-based work environment for AKKF employees and volunteers during programs.
- Develop, coach, and support the Clinical Services team across all aspects of Clinical Delivery to ensure high-quality program implementation.
- Establish clear KPIs for team members and regularly review progress on these KPIs and priorities through Performance Assessments and Quarterly Check-Ins.
About you:
- Postgraduate study in Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Psychology with current AHPRA registration or mental health endorsement if a social worker.
- Meets the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency’s requirements for Continuing Professional Development and Supervision.
- Demonstrated post graduate experience in mental health and recent experience in child and adolescent mental health.
- Advanced skills in assessment, treatment, and care planning of child and adolescent mental health and family relationships.
- Child and youth mental health community experience.
- Demonstrated experience in assessment, care planning, staff management and coordination within community youth mental health.
- Proven clinical management skills with expertise in client-centred consultancy within a multidisciplinary framework.
- In-depth knowledge of Child Protection, Child Safety and Privacy standards and legislation across all Australian jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated team management experience.
- High level customer service expertise.
- Experience with change management, performance management and mentoring.
- Demonstrated work health, wellbeing and safety, risk management and compliance experience.
