  • Hybrid work options, including average 2 days working from home  
  • From 1 July 2025 - Band 7 $110,488 - $123,778 per annum plus superannuation (dependent on experience)

About the team 

The Environmental Planning Team works to improve environmental outcomes for the organisation and the Kingston community. We are a small, passionate team, dedicated to facilitating change.

A bit about the role

We are seeking a Climate Change Adaptation professional to join the Environmental Planning Team. Reporting to the Team Leader, Environmental Planning, your role is to:

  • Lead Council’s climate risk assessment and adaptation response.
  • Drive organisational change to build Council’s climate adaptation capacity and our community’s climate resilience.
  • Represent Council on relevant coordination and advisory panels.

What you’ll deliver                       

  • Manage Council's climate change risk assessment
  • Manage the mid-term evaluation of Kingston's Urban Cooling Strategy
  • Coordinate cross-organisational governance for our climate risk assessment and adaptation response
  • Represent Kingston on regional adaptation forums and projects as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • A passion for driving climate adaptation and resilience action
  • Expertise and demonstrated experience in climate risk assessment and adaptation relevant to local government
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, environmental science, engineering or closely related discipline.
