The Kings Cross Community Centre is a proudly independent information and advocacy centre established by local residents in 1975. Situated in the heart of Kings Cross it remains run by the community for the community.

We are looking for a part-time project officer to join our small but dedicated team. You will be working with other staff and volunteers to devise and deliver two specific government funded programs meeting the needs of the community. We offer salary sacrifice, parking, a harmonious work environment and a deep appreciation of diversity within community.

The Position

The Project Officer is a 20 hour per week position at SCHADS Level 4, pay point 2 ($ 44.20 ph) and is eligible for salary sacrifice. The position is on-site only at 50-58 Macleay Street, Potts Point. The successful candidate must be prepared to undertake a National Police Check.

The General Manager, Kings Cross Community Centre Inc.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working in a small team (the Centre)
  • Experience in not-for-profit project management
  • High level client service skills
  • Proficient in Windows 365 and Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Familiar with DEX reporting
  • Driver’s license preferred but not essential.
  • Formal qualification in community services or social work preferred but not essential

Responsibilities

To oversee the implementation of, and reporting on, government funded projects in line with funding requirements and the KXCC strategic plan, including developing a sound and ongoing relationship with the nominated grant managers.
