Not for profit organisations do incredible work but are often lacking capacity - this is where KiP steps in, connecting these organisations with young people, an untapped source of volunteering.

KiP is a small but driven team. We work closely together, are passionate about what we do, and value having fun and supporting each other along the way. To support our continued growth, KiP is seeking a Programs Coordinator or Manager to play a crucial role in our next stage of growth.

The ideal candidate will be driven by their passion to enhance the lives of young people through the act of helping others and have a sound understanding of the school system.

Key information about the role

  • Working hours: This role will start at 7.5 hrs/wk and increasing to 22.25 hrs/wk but other arrangements can be considered for the right candidate
  • Compensation: Pay level starts at Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Level 3 and will be determined based on the candidate's level of experience and whether the role sits at a Coordinator or Manager level.
  • Reporting: This role reports to the CEO
  • Location: Melbourne based and flexible working conditions with the ability to work from home for the majority of time

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

KiP is looking for people who:

  • Are passionate about KiP’s mission to empower the future changemakers of Australia together
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have public speaking or facilitating experience
  • Have strong organisational skills
  • Demonstrate experience working with young people and can engage primary and middle school aged students
  • Are able to work collectively with the KiP team, schools, and charity & social enterprise partners
  • Demonstrate experience liaising with schools
  • Are self-motivated and reliable

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the KiP team in support of our mission, vision and values, responsibilities will include:

School Programs:

  • Liaise with schools, charity & social enterprise partners to create and deliver programs consistent with KiP’s mission, values, policies and procedures and with the educational, curriculum and operational requirements of schools
  • Coordinate delivery of sessions including KiP and NFP partner personnel present on the day, age-appropriate activities, develop run sheet / timetable, ensuring all materials have been purchased, equipment needed etc.
  • Manage roster of KiP facilitators
  • Manage all inquiries from schools
  • Set and manage project budgets
  • Liaise with schools, charity partners and KiP personnel after the program is delivered to gather feedback and deepen relationships
  • Evaluate project performance

Operations and Human Resources:

  • Ensure effective systems and processes are in place for the organisation to deliver high quality, affordable programs
  • Ensure systems, content and other crucial information is well documented
  • Recruit and onboard new facilitators
  • Support other recruitment and onboarding as needed
  • Manage the work of the Program Administrator and Facilitators

Other:

  • Support grant writing and business development
  • Coordinate KiP’s event calendar
  • Document outcomes and prepare quarterly report for the Board

Kids in Philanthropy is a child safe organisation. A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card will need to be provided prior to commencement of working with KiP. Currency will need to be maintained for the period of volunteering with KiP.
