Your new role

As a mentor, your purpose is to contribute to KFA's vision by supporting young people to achieve their goals and support them in a pathway to success through development of independent living skills

You will provide 1:1 support in a 3-hour session each week per young person referred to the care mentoring program. This session will be delivered in accordance with the school retention guidelines and KFA mentoring standards.

About you

• Previous experience working in mentoring or other related fields, preferably with at risk young people experiencing trauma
• Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and a good understanding of the issues facing First Nations people is preferred
• Demonstrated experience engaging young people in the development of personal and social skills while working towards goals of education, vocational training, and employment
• Excellent computer literacy skills, in particular Microsoft 365 applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
